Sketch Notes
Autumn Promise By Leann Marshall
Do not despair over spent blooms For as they wilt The world becomes patchwork Orange, yellow, brown and green Transforms the land A quilt, pieced lovingly By Mother Nature’s hand And as the last leaf falls A whisper of her enduring promise Travels on the winds: “Sleep, Child, warm and cozy under Winter’s icy touch, A blanket of falling snow Patterns of white lace Upon the window; For soon will come the day His frozen grip rescinds And then the beauty shall return Brought forth the blessed warmth And everything for which we yearn Those gentle blossoms Loved so much.”

"So much to do, so little time" seems to have become my mantra
since I retired. This Sketch Notes is very short--only one poem
(written this month) by me and dedicated to everyone who feels a little
sorry to see warm weather go.
December will bring a full issue with lots of good writing by different
writers. If you would like your poem or short story featured for
December, scroll down and email me, and take a look at the archives
while you're there.
Here's hoping you have a safe, loving and memorable Thanksgiving,
and don't forget to bookmark this site so you can return to Sketch
Notes in December (right around the corner!)
