January Sketch Notes
The Book Mark
Begone
Old problems
Old worries...
And in their stead,
Let me experience
The peace of
Silence...
The elegance of
Simplicity...
Let me slow down and
Stop the Wheel
Just feel
The Promise
The Newness
Of Now...
For Now...
Let the slate remain clean
For just awhile.
Any New Year's resolution I
come up with seems so
trite in these difficult
times. I'm not famous, I'm
not rich. Any impact I can
make on our fair planet is
on such minute scale.
Sometimes I feel so tired,
so powerless.
And yet, I must think that
any way I can change myself
for the better will in some
small way help the All...
(those ripples again,
spreading ever outward)
And as much as I wish we
were, I have come to
understand that we are not
made to fathom the Big
Picture, much less able to
comprehend the beauty and
complexity of its design.
But there are a few things
that I do know--I don't
know how I know but I do,
as well as I know my own
name, that there is
What are we humans, if not
curious and resourceful;
passionate and inspired? We
were made to be as we are,
as an integral part of the
design.
If a resolution is a
promise,then perhaps this
is the most important one
of all for us to keep--to
just realize the miraculous
gifts we've been given for
what they are, and to never
underestimate the power
they hold to change our
world for the better.
That having been said...
Great power in the humblest of thoughts,
Infinite hope in the humblest of dreams.
