we are hearts
that beat the same
riding the river of life
floating gentle in the clouds
and blowing with the wind

this time of year
we share embrace
and thoughts of love
to fuel our souls

open your arms
accept the gift
my love is wrapped
around you
Four Colorful Roses
by
Bill Broome

Bright yellow
brings cheer
in a rare rose
from one's love

White fidelity
boosts pledge
to stay the course
in our oneness

Pink loyalty
says forever
plus celebrating
the day we met

Red of heart
beating on
keeps saying
I Love You

Conversation Hearts
by
Leysa Lowery

A Valentine gift,
The tiny pastel hearts spilled
from the bag,
Covering the kitchen table
With confectionary
conversations of love:
“Hug Me”
“U R 4 Me”
“Lover Boy”
“Sweetheart”
We have shared many tiny
Conversations of love.
Linked together
They create a lifetime of
Loving gestures;
A habit of kindness|
And respect;
A home filled With harmony.
They are the sugar-coated
minutia
That form the building blocks
Of an enduring relationship.
Hearts freely given --
Everyday.
A Thousand Thanks Could Never Be Enough
by
Donelle M. Knudsen

Alzheimer's is taking away a dear friend.

Warm smile, laughing eyes, true in every way is my
Mother-Love,
my husband's mother, my children's grandmother, my
friend.

Madeline walks with dignity, is always generous,
loves well,
but now her mind falters, struggles to recall names
and places.

Eyes not as bright, step not as brisk, Madeline sits
quietly,
but in her heart she stores a lifetime of precious
memories.

Madeline's life has closed in around her,
but it was not always so.
She expanded my world, loved and accepted me as
her own.

Beautiful lady, my Mother-Love, not related by blood,
but by chance, then by choice, by love and
understanding.

Madeline will be missed.
I miss her already and say goodbye
inch by inch, moment by moment as she slips away.

A bleak journey lies ahead for her and she must take
it alone.
But in God's good timing she will be restored to her
full self . . .

Warm smile, laughing eyes, true in every way is my
Mother-Love,

My husband's mother, my children's grandmother, my
dear friend.
xOx {Not Quite so} Silent Valentine xOx

I am a writer
I am a poet.
Words are my stock in trade.
Syllables have tripped from my tongue.
Sentences have rushed to form
phrases.
Phrases have hurried to build
paragraphs.
Paragraphs spilled over page after
page.
I have a dictionary.
I have a thesaurus.
I have encyclopedias.
Multiply all by x.
Why are words not coming to my aid?
This, if ever, is the day..
Love waits to be expressed!
Gratitude!
Respect!
Multiply to the nth.
Do it again.
Read my heart, okay?
Take soul-to-soul up a rung.
At the top of the graph, draw a daisy.
Pull off the petals one by one.
I love you will win the day.
Lean close, find a heart with lace
and a faint but very much there
Picture a skyful of pinwheels and
Roman candles
exploding while a symphony plays.
You make writers stop writing.
You make orators stammer.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Song for My Sweet One
By:
Felix L. Perry

No I can’t buy you fancy chocolates
flowers that will fade and die away
instead I can only offer you my heart
And a love song on Valentine’s Day

I know it’s not jewelry made of gold
its not frilly lingerie in pinks and red
nor dining at some big fancy restaurant
we’d have to book a month a head

no, I’m sorry it’s not a brand new heart
it’s been broke a time or two
somehow it was healed and loves again
sweetheart it’s all because of you

so I’ll sing my songs of love to you
hoping the melody will keep you mine
words that will say I’m forever yours
forever not just on Valentine’s Day
Be My Valentine
by J
ill Eisnaugle

If you would be my Valentine
I’d never ask for more
Since every dream would then be mine
I’d bask in joy galore
My dear, you’ve always been a friend
An angel from above
On whom I can always depend
You are the one I love.

If you would be my Valentine
Much peace would come to me
I’d take the moment as a sign
Some things were meant to be
I’d clinch you in a warm embrace
While smiling big and bold
Then, I would pause to kiss the face
Of the gift I’d behold.

If you would be my Valentine
I’d know deep in my heart
Our lives were meant to intertwine
And nevermore to part
In my life, you have meant the world
That fact is not denied
I hope this day for love unfurled
Will lead you to my side.
On The Beach Of Passion
by
George Carroll

I saw desires fire in your eyes
And felt the warmth of their glow.
I was lying sprawled on the beach of passion,
Where the seeds of sin are left to grow.

The night echoed with ecstasies reverie,
Where only the waves of delight were heard,
As they emanated from our parched souls-
Emitting love without a single word.
Box of Chocolates (haiku)

Love diabetics…
shouldn’t eat them chocolates, but,
a kiss taste sooo good…
E-Dream
(a silly thought...but maybe not!)
By
Leann Marshall

If Cupid shot an arrow true
Far into cyberspace
Would we all receive his message then,
Or would it somehow be displaced?

Would it become an urban legend
For all to just delete, or
Be like a 'shot heard ‘round the world'
Proving Love knows no defeat?

I'd like to watch that little dart
Fly unfettered through the years
Spread Love in all its beauty
Do away with all our fears

Negativity abounds today
Never easy to forget
So let Cupid’s arrow find its mark

Love Escapes
by
Walter LaVerne Jones

So I call
Noting method and sound
All is calm

Faces as frozen as the sound
Hurt and pain
Come in tears
Like a child’s pain

Trail is all I see
Flowers of youth
Dead in love

Head of pipe now cold
Hair starts in folds
Flowers undone

Try as I might
Only  in the moment right
All escapes from me
Trail of all gone see

Field slay flowers ripe
Passing fates passing rites

Some lay  like a dog
Warm stove kept
All we do live in after mat

Troubles to be every mind felt
Trail of all we see
Fingers left on the arch key

Least  is falling of sun
Nothing lasts comfort  in her past
It takes love and hides
Money slept in pride
(grateful dead)
Trail of all we see

Just a cusp on a burning sea
Love in love with me

Trail gone cold
Ashes in a sack done
Everything is a trail of all we see

Love lost in me
Blown by the  wind
